Job Role at Radius Technology Solutions
I’m a Technical Support Engineer at Radius Technology Solutions. My role is all about keeping our clients’ technology running at its best—whether that means troubleshooting day-to-day IT issues, optimising systems for efficiency, or guiding users through new tools and processes. I work closely with clients to understand their challenges and find solutions that not only fix the problem but also help prevent future ones.
Why I Chose a Career in IT
I’ve always been fascinated by computers and technology, and I’m driven by both curiosity and creativity—so a career in IT was the perfect fit. It allows me to design and improve systems, create new solutions, and help people overcome technology-related hurdles. The satisfaction of seeing someone’s workflow improve or their problem resolved never gets old.
Favourite Piece of Technology
I’m always drawn to the latest technology—whether it’s ultra-high-definition TVs, powerful gaming laptops, or new gadgets. I love how these tools can spark creativity, connect people, and offer moments of pure escapism. For many, technology isn’t just functional; it’s a gateway to new experiences, storytelling, and entertainment, and that’s something I find inspiring.
Most Common Client Problem
One of the most frequent challenges I see is a lack of understanding of the underlying logic behind computer systems. Often, it’s not the technology itself that’s the stumbling block—it’s knowing how to think about it. Once clients grasp the basic processes and structure, their confidence grows and they’re able to use technology much more effectively.
Experience in the Field
I bring over three years of professional IT industry experience, supported by four years of university studies in technology. Beyond that, I’ve spent a lifetime immersed in tech—helping friends, family, and anyone who asks with their IT needs. This mix of academic knowledge, hands-on work, and personal passion has given me a well-rounded, adaptable approach to problem-solving.
Specialisms that Benefit Clients
My biggest strength lies in making the complicated simple. I pride myself on being able to explain complex technical concepts in plain, relatable language that makes sense to non-technical users. I have strong skills in system logic, deep familiarity with Microsoft products, and an ability to learn new systems quickly. This means I can adapt to different industries and client needs while keeping technology approachable.
Life Outside of Work
When I’m not working, I’m usually outdoors—hiking, camping, rock climbing, or travelling in my van. I’m passionate about fitness, enjoying calisthenics, running, and getting involved in just about any sport. I’m also a dedicated gamer, especially when it comes to immersive story-driven experiences on both consoles and PC. My dog, BlueBella, is my constant companion on many of these adventures. Away from the outdoors and gaming, I’m a regular at festivals, love travelling to new places, and am a committed cinephile, keeping up with the latest TV and film releases.
